Why A Photo Of A Mexican Girl Appeals To Stock Agencies

This Mexican girl is an ideal subject for stock photography

This is a charming photograph of a Mexican girl in a mall. Her hair and clothing are just right. Scott Stulberg explained why this is the perfect shot for a stock agency.

This photograph of a Mexican girl captures all of the elements stock agencies want

Scott Stulberg: This one is really important because it's a little girl in the mall. I asked her parents if I could shoot her. They took my business card. They saw my Web site.

The best tip I could give you is get a business card with a photo on it and a link to your Web site.

Hopefully you not only have a good business card but you have a good Web

site. Those are two huge ideas for helping you look legitimate and get your models. I look for models all over the world.

This was a family from Puerto Vallarta and they were here in L.A., and their family lives here too. They have the most beautiful little five year old girl named Fernanda. They called me the next day. (click the image for a larger version)

They said, "Oh, your shots are beautiful. We'd love for you to shoot our little girl." We spent the whole day the next day photographing. This little girl wants to be an actress and she took directions so well.

They brought her with all kinds of clothes and props. Everything that I asked her to do, she did.

These kinds of shots, little girls that are any kind of ethnicity -- especially Mexican or African American or from other countries -- stock agencies love this.

You could see with the glasses hanging down with her looking up at me worked really well.

To summarize

The story of this photograph of a Mexican girl perfectly illustrates how using tools like business cards and websites helps you get past the initial barriers of getting a great model and designing a great photo shoot -- with excellent results.
